FLY LIKE A LOCAL

Terms of use

Terms for using Fly Like a Local.

Effective October 22, 2026

These Terms govern the Fly Like a Local website, mobile application and related services provided by Fly Like a Local LLC ("FLAL", "we", "us"). They cover the service you actually use; a feature description does not promise that every version, device, region or subscription includes every feature.

1. Provider and eligibility

Fly Like a Local LLC, 605 Nakota Dr, Fairborn, OH 45324, United States. Owner/contact: Leslie Vancil. Questions, complaints and claims: support@flylikealocal.com or website support.

Accounts are intended for users aged 18 or older. Keep your account information accurate, protect your sign-in codes and do not impersonate another person. An account, profile, airport affiliation or app subscription does not establish pilot qualifications, airworthiness, permission to use an airfield or authority to operate a flight.

2. What FLAL provides

FLAL provides airport discovery, local-pilot communications, route planning, available aviation charts/documents, offline preparation and a flight workspace. Direct messaging is currently available without Pro. Premium features, including available airport weather functions, depend on the entitlement and offer shown in the app. Availability can vary by region, data source, equipment, network and app version.

3. Aviation use and pilot responsibility

FLAL supplies supplemental planning, educational information and situational awareness. Do not use it as the sole means of navigation, separation, terrain avoidance, operational decision-making or emergency response. It is not a certified aircraft instrument, flight clearance, airworthiness determination or substitute for current official information, approved aircraft documents, required equipment or training.

The pilot in command remains responsible for preflight action and safe, lawful operation. Verify current charts/procedures, NOTAMs and TFRs, weather, airspace, runway information, fuel, weight/balance and aircraft performance through appropriate current sources. A preparation result indicates what FLAL downloaded or checked; it is not a complete regulatory briefing or a guarantee that a flight is safe or legal.

Position, GPS altitude, ground speed, track and estimates can be unavailable, delayed or inaccurate. GPS altitude is not a substitute for a correctly set aircraft altimeter. An estimated position after signal loss is an estimate, not a measured fix. Terrain/airspace advisories and calculations must not replace approved instruments and pilot judgment. Check the displayed source, accuracy, timestamps and operating state.

Downloaded data can be expired, incomplete or outside the selected corridor/zoom coverage. No-network operation depends on successful preparation, adequate device storage/power and the actual downloaded material. Retain appropriate backups. Weather, including FIS-B mosaics, can be delayed and must not be treated as live tactical radar. Receiver traffic is incomplete and is not a collision-avoidance system. Compatibility is model/configuration dependent; a GDL90 interface does not establish compatibility with all receivers.

Maintain attention to the aircraft and surroundings. Configure the device and review data before workload-sensitive phases of flight. FLAL is not monitored for emergencies. Charts, weather and third-party information do not become official or complete merely because they appear in the app.

4. License and permitted use

Subject to these Terms and applicable store usage rules, FLAL grants you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the app on devices you own or control. For Apple-distributed apps this covers Apple-branded products and permitted Family Sharing/volume-purchasing use. The applicable store license and mandatory law take precedence over conflicting usage restrictions.

Do not unlawfully copy, redistribute, resell, reverse engineer, interfere with or evade security/access controls. Exceptions required by applicable law remain available. Respect the rights and attribution requirements of chart, map and other content providers. Your download does not transfer ownership of FLAL software or third-party materials.

5. Subscriptions, trials, cancellation and refunds

Before purchasing, review the offer shown by Apple: included features, billing period, localized price, taxes where applicable and any eligible introductory offer. These Terms do not promise a fixed price or a free trial to everyone. Any trial or discount lasts only for the period shown in the offer.

An auto-renewing subscription is billed to your Apple account and renews under the purchase terms unless cancelled. Manage or cancel it through Apple subscription settings. For a trial you do not want renewed, follow Apple's cancellation deadline, including cancelling at least 24 hours before the trial ends. Access after cancellation follows the applicable offer and Apple's terms.

Deleting the app or account does not cancel the subscription. Restore available purchases using the app's Restore purchases control with the appropriate Apple/FLAL accounts. A purchase may require transaction verification; do not share verification codes with support.

Refund eligibility and processing for App Store purchases are handled by Apple subject to applicable law. You may request a review through Apple's purchase-support service. We do not promise a refund or deny rights that law or Apple's terms provide. Price changes, renewal notices and any required consent follow the applicable store rules and law.

6. User content, privacy and conduct

You remain responsible for content you submit and must have appropriate rights and permissions. You retain ownership. You grant FLAL a non-exclusive license to host, transmit, display, format and make technical copies of that content to operate the feature and audience you choose. This does not grant us a general right to sell private conversations or use private content in advertising. Separate permission is required for uses beyond the service purpose and applicable law.

Public profile, airport and other public contributions can be seen or retained by others. Private communication and support information must be handled according to the Privacy Policy, rather than automatically treated as public or non-confidential. Exporting or sharing a route/track can expose its precise location and timing.

Do not post unlawful, infringing, threatening, harassing, discriminatory or sexually exploitative material, spam or deceptive content; expose another person's private information; misuse credentials; or disrupt the service. Report abuse through available reporting controls or support. FLAL may investigate, restrict or remove content/accounts as reasonably necessary to enforce these Terms, protect users or comply with law. We do not promise continuous human monitoring of every conversation.

7. Support, changes and third-party services

Use support for ordinary product issues. Do not rely on a support message for time-critical flight advice. Report problems with the relevant app version, device and circumstances, without unnecessarily disclosing private data. FLAL may update the service or temporarily limit features for maintenance, security, compatibility or source availability; mandatory consumer rights and purchased entitlement obligations remain applicable.

Third-party websites, maps, data, networks, receivers and embedded videos have their own terms and limitations. Comply with applicable third-party agreements, including your network/provider terms. FLAL does not control third-party availability or independently verify every community contribution.

8. Availability, warranties and liability

To the extent permitted by law, service availability and third-party information are provided without a guarantee of continuous operation, comprehensive coverage, error-free results or suitability for a particular flight. We do not guarantee a specific compatibility outcome without checking the relevant device/receiver configuration.

To the extent permitted by law, FLAL is not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from service interruption, unavailable data or third-party services. These provisions do not exclude fraud, liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, or mandatory consumer remedies. They do not promise that every disclaimer or limitation is enforceable in every jurisdiction.

9. Account closure and termination

You may stop using FLAL and request account/data deletion through the contact path in the Privacy Policy. The iOS app currently directs deletion requests to support; it does not provide a functioning automated account-deletion flow. Removing the app alone does not delete cloud records or cancel billing.

FLAL may suspend or terminate access for material breach, unlawful conduct or a necessary security/legal reason, subject to applicable law. Data requests and any legally required access/refund rights continue to be handled under applicable law. Retained rights and obligations survive only as needed for their lawful purpose.

10. Apple-specific terms

The application license for the Apple-distributed app is governed by Apple’s Standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement, unless a separate custom EULA is expressly presented in the App Store. These service terms do not replace an applicable App Store license.

For an Apple-distributed app, the agreement is between you and FLAL, not Apple. FLAL is responsible for app content, support, applicable warranties and product/IP claims. Apple need not provide support. If an applicable warranty is not met, you may notify Apple for the app purchase-price remedy required by its rules; other warranty-related responsibility remains with FLAL to the extent required by law. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries and may enforce these terms.

You must comply with applicable export restrictions and represent that you are not in a prohibited U.S.-embargoed location or on a prohibited/restricted-party list, as required by Apple's minimum terms. Mandatory law and applicable Apple usage rules remain controlling.

11. Governing law and changes

These Terms use Ohio law, without overriding non-waivable protections that apply where you live. If a provision is unenforceable, remaining provisions continue to the extent permitted by law.

Material revisions will be identified with an effective date and any notice or agreement required by law. Revised terms do not retroactively remove accrued non-waivable rights. Contact FLAL if you need clarification before using a feature.
