Fly Like A Local is designed to help pilots when they need it most. General aviation pilots fly to small airports that are often empty. Some small airports while they are more convenient can often be like a ghost town. Fly Like A Local gives pilots access to a local contact when things go wrong or when they need local information. Mechanics, FBOs, and anyone interested in general aviation will benefit from the app.
For a brief rundown on how it works, you download and register. The map will load for your area then you can click on airports for basic information. You can also search by airport or area to find other airports. When you go to the details page registered users for that airport appear on the top. To message other users you need to subscribe. the fee is quite low at 2.99 a month or 24.99 a year (subject to change). Not only will you be able to chat with a local you will get new features as they come available. We are currently testing weather including Metars and TAFs. We will be introducing even more features soon. Fly Like A Local is striving to be the go to app for general aviation.
